THE ACRES FOR AUROVILLE FLIER 24TH APRIL 2026

One thing unites all who come to Auroville – it is aspiration, that seeking for something higher, and the possibility of making this something higher a reality. Auroville gives us the opportunity to manifest our individual and collective aspiration for this goal, here, on its physical land, designated for this purpose. But this role and possibility is not just limited to Auroville’s space – for Auroville is meant to be a place of positive contagion, a beacon, showing the world what aspiration can bring. THE LANDS FOR AUROVILLE UNIFIED LETTER – 24TH APRIL 2026

April 24th celebrates a pivotal moment in human history: the 106th anniversary of the Mother’s final 1920 arrival in Pondicherry. It was, she said “… the tangible sign of the sure Victory over the adverse forces.” The Mother’s founding of Auroville is a part of this profound spiritual “certainty, for just as the Mother’s physical presence in 1920 anchored the new evolutionary force on earth, the consolidation of Auroville’s physical land anchors Auroville’s lofty ideals into the material plane. February 28th, Auroville’s birthday, saw the joyful opening of Sunship’s ‘La Petite Epicerie’ (‘The Little Grocery Store’) inaugurating this beautiful space created with an aspiration for collective participation. Situated in the Habitat Zone of the City Centre, it serves the residential communities of the area and the surrounding neighbourhood. It has been a story of dedication by the team of Louis, Anandi, Arul and Ananda, who patiently bore several years of hurdles to be able to offer this service to the community.

INSPIRING QUOTES – THE MOTHER ON ASPIRATION

‘This taste for supreme adventure is aspiration – an aspiration which takes hold of you completely and flings you without calculation and without reserve and without a possibility of withdrawal into the great adventure of the divine discovery, the great adventure of the divine meeting, the yet greater adventure of the divine Realisation.’ We are pleased to present here The Mother’s many instructive messages on aspiration for the period 1934 – 1956. THE ACRES FOR AUROVILLE FLIER 21ST – 28TH FEBRUARY 2026

Auroville was created to manifest the ideal of human unity. However, the unity we seek is not automatic – we are each unique manifestations and experience things differently. Plus, with our many layers of consciousness, we don’t always have unity and harmony even inside ourselves. Yet, there are times when we achieve a deep, uplifting oneness and harmony within and all together. For, as The Mother has said, ‘There is a deep and true consciousness in which all can meet in love and harmony’. Here we share some of her guidelines on the harmony that leads to the unity that Auroville is meant to incarnate. Version française en pdf … பிடிஎஃப்பில் தமிழ்ப் பதிப்பு

THE LANDS FOR AUROVILLE UNIFIED LETTER – 21ST – 28TH FEBRUARY 2026

58 years ago, Auroville commenced her journey. But the idea, the formation of “an ideal city” was in the background for much of The Mother’s life. As early as the 1930’s and even before she came to India and met Sri Aurobindo, she had the dream of founding a new city. And then the idea lapsed. In her 1965 talk on the return of the idea, the striking point for our land consolidation work is that it was “the place” – the availability of land and the possibility to develop it – “that caused the formation to be born”. It was a physical base which revived the vision and the aspiration to manifest the dream. Version française en pdf … பிடிஎஃப்பில் தமிழ்ப் பதிப்பு

CONNECTING THE DOTS – BY TOBY

Toby came into contact with Sri Aurobindo & The Mother as a teenager in the Netherlands and quickly became involved with the Sri Aurobindo Auroville Society and Auroville International Netherlands. From that early point on, his life path was made of a series of significant points which finally connected and found their meaning when he settled in Auroville in 2006. His professional career as a CEO in Finance and with Dutch water companies gave him skills that he now brings to Auroville’s town planning and water service groups. He sees Auroville as ‘a spiritual creation’ whose elements ‘have a spiritual place and meaning’.
