THE SEEKER IS THE FINDER – BY ELLIE, A NEW AUROVILIAN FROM IRAN

Ellie came to Auroville as a volunteer and became an Aurovilian in October 2021. The Iranian saying “The seeker is the finder” sums up her aspiration and life experience. A Chartered Accountant, she brings her skills to two Auroville units. What she greatly appreciates is Auroville’s diversity of opportunities for inner and outer growth, that she feels she could find nowhere else. She says, “Auroville has become a dear and beautiful home to my heart.”

SOLIDARITY FOR A4A’S LAND FUNDRAISING – GARDEN OF THE UNEXPECTED POSTCARDS & STICKERS

The Garden of the Unexpected was created for children as “a place of wonder and unexpected learnings” and after three years it is now almost completed. To celebrate this achievement, a set of artwork postcards and stickers depicting the GOU’s flora and fauna is available for sale at the Visitors Center and at www.auroville.com with the proceeds going to A4A. We thank Mona and Studio Naqshbandi for this beautiful support for Auroville’s missing Master Plan land!

THE 150th ANNIVERSARY YEAR – HUMAN UNITY INSPIRATION & RESOURCES

Auroville was founded as a forerunner for and experiment in creating human unity, with Sri Aurobindo’s teachings at its core. To celebrate the 150th anniversary of Sri Aurobindo’s birth, many worldwide friends are highlighting his great contributions to humanity with books and talks that provide clarity and inspiration for our present times, and for the way ahead. Here we provide a few of these sharings as resources, along with contact information.

INSPIRING QUOTES – 24 APRIL 2022

Sri Aurobindo and The Mother shared so many helpful perspectives on human life, our personal roles, and the attitudes needed for being and acting in the world. Auroville is meant to develop into and emerge as a broad, unique, futuristic, universal township drawing light and inspiration from Sri Aurobindo’s evolutionary vision. It is a double-edged undertaking – with work to be done in the world, in matter – and with work to be done in consciousness, one’s own and the collectivity’s. AUROVILLE LAND CONSOLIDATION & FUNDRAISING – HISTORICAL PERSPECTIVES & MILESTONES

We are happy to present a historical perspective and the milestones of Auroville’s land consolidation and fundraising over the decades, as compiled by long-time fundraiser, Aryadeep. In it, he pays tribute to the many people – Aurovilians, government officials, eminent leaders – who have contributed their energy and devotion to the cause of Auroville’s land. Donor generosity has always played a major role. With 10% of the City and over 50% of the Green Belt still missing, the task isn’t over!

CHARLIE & THE HISTORY OF AUROGREEN – CONVERSATIONS WITH SUZIE

Aurogreen, started by Charlie in 1975, is an inspiring Auroville success story. One of the oldest farms, it is the first to be organic. In these conversations between AV pioneers Charlie and Suzie, we get a glimpse of the immense challenges of these early days – and the ingenuity it took to succeed. We are grateful to Charlie for sharing the Aurogreen adventure and for his 47 years of intensive work.

THE ADVENTURE OF AUROVILLE WAS CALLING ME

After years of forward-thinking professional work and idealistic service, personal trials, and solo travels throughout rural Asia, English-born Helen became an Aurovilian in early 2021, contributing her many skills and enthusiasm. “Auroville continues to fascinate me every single day. I feel lucky and inspired to be surrounded by so many people of such diverse backgrounds bound together through their passion to discover new ways to live.” Here we share her inspiring views and journey.
