The ideals of “constant progress” and “a living embodiment of an actual human unity" in the charter of Auroville are most fully understood in the context of the landmark event of February 29th, 1956. Our quest for a unified base of Auroville is to provide a cohesive ground for Auroville's ideals to become realised facts.
AuroOrchard is Auroville’s oldest farm that was started by Gérard at the request of The Mother 50 years ago. From barren land, it is now lush and fully-organic, and is Auroville's second-biggest farm.
