AUROIMAGE- in collaboration with A4A – has created a new video clip “Solidarity for the Land of Auroville” with music by Nadaka, available in English and in French. It is another inspiring addition to our rich collection of multi-language original films about the City of Dawn, and the land that is designated for it.
In India, the peacock is the symbol of VICTORY, and recently, a pair of peacocks were seen on The Mother’s Terrace! This and other special peacock sightings seem particularly significant, coming at the time of the March and April events celebrated by the worldwide Integral Yoga-Ashram-Auroville family. Perhaps these peacocks express a deeper, encouraging truth behind the present difficult circumstances .
In this special month, the “harmonious collective aspiration” that The Mother spoke of was very much in evidence with a series of solidarity events FOR A CAUSE – the harmonious manifestation of Auroville. Read all our news, including our articles on pioneer Gérard & the building of AuroOrchard, and on the “AV baby newcomers” brought into the world with the assistance of Paula & the Morning Star Birthing Project team, and the inauguration of Art for Land 2020 by the Hon. Dr. Kiran Bedi, Lt. Governor of Puducherry.
Auroville, the universal township, was founded as a dedicated place for Sri Aurobindo’s great vision to take root and unfold. The steps in the chain all took place in February – The Mother’s birth, the City of Dawn’s Inauguration, and between them, the landmark event of February 29th, 1956.
The ideals of “constant progress” and “a living embodiment of an actual human unity” in the charter of Auroville are most fully understood in the context of the landmark event of February 29th, 1956. Our quest for a unified base of Auroville is to provide a cohesive ground for Auroville’s ideals to become realised facts.
AuroOrchard is Auroville’s oldest farm that was started by Gérard at the request of The Mother 50 years ago. From barren land, it is now lush and fully-organic, and is Auroville’s second-biggest farm. We sincerely thank Gérard for sharing with the A4A camapign this memoir of his very special adventure serving the City of Dawn.
