On August 15th, 1947, with India’s independence, Sri Aurobindo expressed the dreams that had
guided him: notably, a world union, the spiritual gift of India to the world, and a step in evolution
which “would raise man to a higher and larger consciousness” for “a brighter and nobler life for all
mankind.” On his passing, The Mother had this memorium inscribed on Sri Aurobindo’s Samadhi:
In 1972, in the 100th year of Sri Aurobindo’s birth, The Mother pronounced these words:
“LET US ALL STRIVE TO BE WORTHY OF SRI AUROBINDO’S CENTENARY”
Now, in this 150th year, it is we, who with gratitude and aspiration, say:
“MAY WE ALL – TOGETHER AND IN UNITY – DO OUR PART TO SERVE THESE DREAMS!”
