Sri Aurobindo’s ideals have inspired and guided the lives of so many people from all around the world – providing a vision of human possibility and a context for understanding the evolutionary changes and upheavals we are witnessing. More than anything, his vision and the Mother’s work provide a compass towards the future for us all. “The City at the service of Truth”, Auroville is a concrete stepping stone for creating new models for the future.

ART FOR LAND 2021-2022: OUR NEW EXHIBITION AND EVENTS

Art for Land will hold its new cycle of beauty and solidarity for Auroville’s land with an exhibition of over 1500 donated works. Our Opening Ceremony on Sunday, January 30th at the Unity Pavilion will be followed by a month of inspiring events till 6th March, followed by more special actions in this special anniversary year. Our aim is to create a beautiful gift of resources for Land Purchase for Auroville. Join us!

A4A YEAR 8 BEGINS

“Acres for Auroville ” (A4A) is embarking on its 8th year at the service of a unified and harmonious land base for Auroville. Looking back on the seven years of collective action since A4A’s launch on 15th August 2014, we feel both happiness and a sense of utility. Happiness – because A4A has enhanced awareness, unity and enthusiasm for the cause; utility – because of the many solid and tangible results of the campaign. THE WORK OF AUROVILLE’S LAND BOARD – PART 2: THE SECRETARIAL TEAM

In our last newsletter, we presented the Land Board’s enormous and multi-faceted work. Supporting it all is the team of three secretaries who help keep all this vital work going on. Greetings & Update from A4A in this Special Month of April!

April is a special month as the creation of Auroville has its roots in two significant events – the arrival of Sri Aurobindo to Pondicherry in 1910, and the definitive arrival of The Mother in 1920 to work by his side. On 24th April 1920, The Mother returned to India definitively to work with Sri Aurobindo on a new manifestation for the Earth consciousness.
This landmark event was preceded by their first meeting six years earlier in March 1914.
