Our 2020 New Year’s Card For The Land

Dear Friends and Donors to Auroville’s Unified Land Base,

Greetings from Auroville!

The New Year 2020 is upon us, with many memorable, light-filled days coming in the course of this year: in February, Auroville will celebrate her 52nd birth anniversary, and there are the two signal days of February 29th – the 16th anniversary of the Supramental Descent in 1956, commemorated every four years – and the Centenary of The Mother’s final return to India on April 24th, beginning the decades of her collaboration with Sri Aurobindo.

“Lands for Auroville Unified” (LFAU) and its two campaigns – “Acres for Auroville” (A4A) and “GreenAcres” (GA) are very pleased to send you the e-version of our annual New Year’s card. We express our sincere thanks to Auroville artist Emanuele Scanziani for the inspiring artwork of the Matrimandir’s Garden of Power, and to Aravinda Maheshwari for his beautiful graphic work.

Thanks to the contribution of a benefactor, we will be able to send a hard-copy of our New Year’s card by post to our contributors – in addition to this e-version to all our friends and supporters. The card will be sent out in the coming days, and if you don’t receive it, please let us know.

For donors and friends in Auroville, the card will be available in many key places, in addition to Town Hall, PTDC, Solar Kitchen and the LFAU Office on the 1st floor. The card is given for free as an offering, and is not to be sold anywhere.

Donations from friends like you have enabled Auroville’s Land Board to add over 59 plots comprising 52 acres of previously-missing Master Plan land to the Auroville mosaic in the last 5 years. As we know, it’s little drops that make up an ocean, so solidarity works and can produce miracles.
