Sri Aurobindo’s Birth Anniversary & A4A’s Year 13 begins!

In the 1967 “Conditions for Living in Auroville”, The Mother wrote as a first condition:
“To be convinced of the essential unity of mankind and to have the will to collaborate for the material realisation of that unity”
Then, in January 1969, one year after Auroville’s inauguration, The Mother affirmed her certitude of the arrival of a new consciousness, for a new creation. About this, she later clearly stated:
“What the New Consciousness wants (it insists on this) is: no more divisions”
For the new consciousness, this necessity of no more divisions applies also to “the opposition” between spiritual and material life for, as she said,
“… in truth, life and the spirit are one”
The Mother called Auroville “Tomorrow’s City”. This city for the future was conceived to be a place of non-division on every level: people, cultures, nationalities, matter, spirit. It is meant to be a home for the new consciousness and for the new creation it will bring:
“We will strive to make Auroville the cradle of the superman…
Auroville wants to be that place and offers itself to all those who aspire to live tomorrow’s truth”
Auroville needs to consolidate its designated physical space – the home for the new consciousness.
