Unity Pavilion is privileged to host the 3rd Art for Land exhibition & land fundraiser. Over 70 artists from around the world have generously donated their works to raise funds for Auroville’s missing land – visitors make a land donation and receive an artwork as a gift.
We are also happy to announce the arrival of the French version of our A4A 50th birthday land gift video “ACRES for AUROVILLE – Campagne de collecte de fond pour les terres manquantes de la Cité l’Aurore”. You can find it with our other land awareness & campaign films on our COLAAP A4A video page!
Now turning 50 this February, Auroville is blooming. Its once-barren land is a green and creative testimony to the years of dedication, hope, hard work, and collaboration! All of these impressive achievements are built upon – and depend on – the City of Dawn’s land!
The story of Auroville can be understood as 5 decades of trial and effort for “the growth of light” and “the struggle towards better things”. Starting with a scarcity of resources of any kind, today we see a healthy, multi-pronged international community striving for a sunlit vision of the future.
By popular request, the A4A campaign video for the “50th Birthday gift of land” is now enhanced with music by Nadaka. Join us in building a precious gift for Auroville!
Seventy years ago, Sri Aurobindo wrote a message that was broadcast on All India Radio for India’s Independence. He wrote of his long-cherished dreams, two of which relate to the Auroville vision. Auroville exists to incarnate these 2 dreams, and Acres for Auroville exists to provide the land!
August 15th marks the completion of Acres for Auroville’s third year. Thanks to donations, A4A again reached its goal, providing funds for 15 new plots to date. As we start Year 4, A4A is the indispensable resource for the Land Board’s vital work!
Acres for Auroville donations have helped secure 10.36 new Greenbelt acres! The International Advisory Council officially expresses appreciation for A4A’s work.
Annapurna Farm is Auroville’s biggest farm – its focus is organic rice and millet production as well as being Auroville’s largest dairy – today the only certified organic dairy in South India.
