New land in the inner City area

We are happy to announce that between January and December 2022, 14 new plots of previously-missing Master Plan land were added to Auroville’s physical base !

This positive progress was completely financed by the generosity of the City of Dawn’s worldwide friends as well as Aurovilians. The majority of the plots were financed by donations to Acres for Auroville, with the rest coming from contributions to GreenAcres and Lands for Auroville Unified.

Ten plots were added to the City area, for a total of 6.72 acres. These plots help consolidate important areas for the City Zone as they are all located inside or next to these communities and facilities:

Arati
CSR
Grace
Solar Kitchen
Horizon

Four plots were added to the Greenbelt for a total of 3.12 acres within or next to the these dynamic AV Greenbelt communities :

Fertile
Pitchandikulam
Sharnga
