On February 21st, Auroville’s Land Board registered two new plots of Greenbelt land, creating greater consolidation and more farmland for the City of Dawn!
In February 2019, the special 50th anniversary year came to a happy close and Auroville’s 51st year began! We celebrate this landmark transition with a positive news round-up celebrating courage and vision.

The Matrimandir is Auroville’s most valued creation, and it is cared for with dedication and courage! The Mother wrote: “Let the Matrimandir be the living symbol of Auroville’s aspiration for the Divine” – “manifesting in a progressive human unity”.
Auroville’s artists along with artist friends from all over the world have come together for the 4th time to raise funds for Auroville’s missing acres. Over 90 artists have donated their original creations in the media of painting, sculpture, pottery, textiles, jewelry, and photography. In an action of flowing generosity, donors make a land contribution and are gifted with an artwork. In addition to the exhibition there is the opening concert and a variety of fundraising events. This is a non-commercial action – all donations go for land purchase within the Master Plan area.
