The 10-kilometer winding route went from Certitude to Luminosity, then to the Solar Kitchen followed by Deepanam School, included one round of the Matrimandir Park of Unity, then went the Bliss way and through Transformation, Dana, Fertile, Kulam, Samriddhi and back to Certitude through Anusuya, Sukhavati, Maitreye and Pitanga.
Our joy was to see people delighted by the route through the Auroville forests. As one runner said: This was a wonderful way to enjoy Auroville’s shady paths even on a hot summer’s afternoon, to let our feet touch mother Earth in an intimate way, and to enjoy simple togetherness in a friendly, non-competitive way!”
Runners were supported by sponsors with the proceeds going to the GreenAcres campaign – to further grow and protect the greening of Auroville land.
This event would not have been possible without the efforts of the Aurovilians and the ‘Greenbelters’ who nurtured this beautiful forest for the past 48 years … and the help of volunteers from everywhere who marked the route, cycled along, took care of timekeeping, aid stations, etc.
