AUROVILLE LAND CONSOLIDATION & FUNDRAISING – HISTORICAL PERSPECTIVES & MILESTONES

We are happy to present a historical perspective and the milestones of Auroville’s land consolidation and fundraising over the decades, as compiled by long-time fundraiser, Aryadeep. In it, he pays tribute to the many people – Aurovilians, government officials, eminent leaders – who have contributed their energy and devotion to the cause of Auroville’s land. Donor generosity has always played a major role. With 10% of the City and over 50% of the Green Belt still missing, the task isn’t over!

CHARLIE & THE HISTORY OF AUROGREEN – CONVERSATIONS WITH SUZIE

Aurogreen, started by Charlie in 1975, is an inspiring Auroville success story. One of the oldest farms, it is the first to be organic. In these conversations between AV pioneers Charlie and Suzie, we get a glimpse of the immense challenges of these early days – and the ingenuity it took to succeed. We are grateful to Charlie for sharing the Aurogreen adventure and for his 47 years of intensive work.

NEW MEMBERS SELECTED FOR AUROVILLE’S LAND BOARD

Auroville has recently selected three dynamic Aurovilians – Raja, Satyakam, and Venkat – to serve as new members on the Land Board, joining existing members Rajavelu and Renu and re-appointed members Helena and Padmanabhan. We are happy to share this introduction to the new members, and wish all of the Land Board the best as they begin a new mandate!

ART FOR LAND 2021-2022: OUR NEW EXHIBITION AND EVENTS

Art for Land will hold its new cycle of beauty and solidarity for Auroville’s land with an exhibition of over 1500 donated works. Our Opening Ceremony on Sunday, January 30th at the Unity Pavilion will be followed by a month of inspiring events till 6th March, followed by more special actions in this special anniversary year. Our aim is to create a beautiful gift of resources for Land Purchase for Auroville. Join us!
