Inaugurating our A4A New Year’s Card & Calendar 2025.pdf

At Acres for Auroville (A4A), we always regard the publication of our New Year card as an opportunity to present something of the spirit of Auroville and the futuristic vision of Sri Aurobindo and the Mother. It is a creative and spiritual exercise of searching, designing, printing, and then distributing our card and its message in Auroville and among Auroville’s worldwide friends and donors.

But before we start distribution, we hold a small Card Inauguration Ceremony in our Lands for Auroville Unified (LFAU) office and invite an Aurovilian to release the card. This year, we had the pleasure to invite Zech, from the Philippines, who has been residing in Auroville since 2019.

Zech is a poet and a philosopher and he had been an adept in the past of many spiritual practices. However, when he came across Sri Aurobindo’s message that “Man is a transitional being”, that fired him up as nothing else had. He went deeper and deeper into Sri Aurobindo’s & the Mother’s vision and work, and finally, came to Auroville, handing over the management of his estate in the Philippines to trusted friends. About the 2025 card
The first page of our 2025 card shows a rainbow over the Matrimandir, accompanied by two extracts from Sri Aurobindo’s messages and writings: “A rainbow dream, a hope for golden change!” and “The rainbow is a sign of peace and deliverance.”

The picture on the 2nd page brings in the human element – a seeker in meditation below the branches of the Banyan Tree before the golden discs of the Matrimandir. The accompanying message from the Mother is worth remembering again and again, as it reads:

“The Matrimandir wants to be the symbol of the Divine’s answer to man’s
aspiration for perfection.
Union with the Divine manifesting in a progressive human unity.”

These lines express the secret of and the path towards true human unity. The Matrimandir reminds us that we are participating in a progressive manifestation for that goal.

The third page of our card carries two assurances in the quotes from Savitri that this progression is not just an ideal, human dream or aspiration, but a real emerging reality and a fundamental evolutionary fact.

“A new creation from the old shall rise…
The Eternal’s wonders join the dance of Time.”

And on page 4, with the 2025 calendar and quote references, we have The Mother’s practical reminder about being “a burning fire for progress”.
