We are happy to announce the current exhibition of works by Auroville artist Pierre Legrand at Auroville’s Unity Pavilion, inaugurated on February 5th, and ongoing till March 12th :
“The Material and the Spiritual can influence each other
to alter Life and the Environment”
Pierre Legrand is a versatile creator whose skills as an engineer combine with his rich artistic talent to blend beauty, creativity, mathematics and art. All of his work is based on algorithms and mathematical formulas which translate language into visual equivalents of structure and color.
His meeting with The Mother in Pondicherry in 1968 sparked his invention of a special coded script which has structured all his work – painting, sculpture, installations, and music. This coded script explores cellular structures, space and porosity as a way to understand the mystery of being human. It is also a means for delving into the innermost core where the Material and the Spiritual can impact each other to alter life and environment.
We congratulate Pierre on this magnificent exhibit!
And we sincerely thank him for his ongoing support for Auroville’s Master Plan land consolidation
via his contributions to Art for Land and the Acres for Auroville campaign.
You can view and purchase his beautiful works in solidarity for Auroville’s land
at the Unity Pavilion or at https://artforland.in/artists/pierre-legrand
